Sic Bo Rules And History

Sic Bo is a game of ancient Chinese origin that is an unmatched game of chance. This post will teach you how to play Sic Bo and give you some info on it’s origins. The Sic bo rules have changed little in hundreds of years.  The game has been said to originate in Asia, where it is still an extremely popular dice game.  Long ago before dice were even invented ancient martial arts fighters would use random objects like shells and stones to play Sic Bo in between combat.  They would carve numbers and dots on these pieces so they would know what to place their bets on.  The name Sic Bo has also went through different meanings over time just the same as the actual look of the game has as well.  Past names included “Dai Siu” which means “dice bowl”, and “Tai Sai” which means “dice pair”.   Sic Bo then translated to “two bricks” which referred to the appearance of the dice, and that soon changed to “lucky pair” because of the two dice that were used during gameplay.  As time went on there was more fine tuning that was done to perfect the game by adding a third dice to make the wagers and combinations more exciting and interesting.

The tools of the game include 3 dice and a table that hosts many different betting possibilities.  The win is determined by the combinations that the dice display once the wagers are made and the dice are rolled.  The amount of wagers that are possible rest in the hands of the player, so he can bet on multiple combinations if he chooses to do so.   So basically the game is indeed a shot of pure luck based on the outcome of your roll which is great for the player that doesn’t play well using strategy.

How To Play Sic Bo

The player places his bets on whatever single or multiple combination he chooses.  The dealer rolls the dice by turning on a vibrating mechanism that tosses the dice around in a covered “cage”.  Once it is turned off every possible combination is highlighted on the table, and the dealer eliminates the bets of the losers.  The dealer then proceeds to transfer payouts to all of the winners.  Sic Bo is an exciting entertaing game that rests solely on chance, so learning the basics is not hard to do at all.
